Last week, New York authorities announced that a man in Long
Island, NY has been arrested and charged with several felonies after supposedly
stealing more than $648,000 in premiums from a client. He ended up spending the
money on country club memberships, luxury car payments, and gambling trips.
Claims are being submitted to insurers from New York’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority and the Federal government trying to recover the $65 million is losses it suffered from Hurricane Irene last year.
